About Counselling

What is Counselling?

Counselling and Psychotherapy (the term is interchangeable) helped me to break old resistant patterns and conditioning and therefore I believe it can help many other individuals to become more self-aware and to gain a good understanding of their own thoughts, feelings and abilities. Often we look outside ourselves for answers and explanations about why we feel the way we do, why we are stuck, why relationships don’t work, and we believe if we can change those external things or situations, our lives will get better. But what often appears to us as external obstacles are really internal ones and it is our internal landscape that determines how we walk through and experience the world. Perception therefore is not a window but a mirror. Counselling can offer you help in developing fresh perspectives to distressing situations and events and can help you to become more mindful of those negative beliefs and patterns which prevent you from becoming a fully actualised person.
